Living conditions Other than stand-downs in base camp, we lived in the jungle 30 - 40 days at a time. We slept on the ground, bathed in streams and ate mainly cold C rations. Our only real entertainment were letters from home.
Most vivid memory of military experience Combat!
Missed most whilst in the military Family! Japanese Food! Existing in an environment where I wasn't in fear of death.
Most important thing, personally, to come from military experience? Life is a gift - don't take it for granted.

I'm not so special. I'm alive today because of good luck!

Don't go to war unless it is unavoidable!

That Vietnam can't be totally excised from my mind.
