Exhibit Grand Opening
Step into the past and help us honor our community's stories of sacrifice, hardship and resilience. We invite you to come and engage with the firsthand experiences of Japanese Americans who experienced the racial tension and hysteria of WWII. From people who remember the cold, dusty barracks to veterans who served in the U.S. military, the "Sharing the Story" exhibit (located in the JAMsj JCCNC rotating exhibit area) features an array of portraits and recorded interviews, showcasing the unique experiences of Japanese Americans who emerged with incredible stories of hope and overcoming prejudice.
We are still calling for stories.
If you are interested in sharing your internment experience, please email us at oralhistory@jamsj.org .
