San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Buddhist Temple hosts its Obon carnival on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1, from 4:30pm to 9:00pm, at the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center.
The Jodo Shinshu temple has a membership of 250 and expects about 2,000 celebrants each night. Highlights include Bon Odori, taiko performances, cultural exhibitions and good and game booths!
